Volare

About us

The people behind Volare

Owner & host

Tucker

I first came to Costa Rica in 1989, flying a hot-air balloon for American Airlines. I had owned Cameron Balloons and, in 1991, founded Serendipity Adventures, which I ran for over 20 years before selling it.

I built Volare to share this country I love with old friends and new. Today I live here with my Tico husband, and Yamilet runs the house with a care that makes every guest feel at home.

Heart of the house

Yamilet

Yamilet has cared for Volare’s guests since around 1995. She cooks the traditional meals guests fall in love with, watches over children while parents adventure, and keeps every corner of the house warm and ready.

She speaks Spanish only, but with WhatsApp interpretation and a lot of warmth, communication is never a problem. Guests leave as friends.

Our philosophy

A home, not a hotel

We host one group at a time because we believe a vacation should feel personal and completely yours. No crowds, no schedules but your own, just a whimsical house above the clouds, and people who genuinely want you to love Costa Rica as much as we do.
